leisurely rides, as well as a relaxing pitstop on the longer ones.- A number of Ornithological Societies and individuals alike come to Washtucna to catch glimpses of a variety of birds. - Campsites in Bassett Park are utilized throughout the summer by visitors. Local, Recreational, and State Parks provide a getaway for residents. - Join up and sing your heart out! - A 1908 Railway corridor built by James J. Hill, the Empire Builder, linking Spokane to both Portland and Seattle that has been converted to usage for bicycles, horses, and hikers. Washtucna section is not open at present date. - Despite the low precipitation levels, the region has bodies of water waiting for you to cast your line in! ![]() - Established courses are located in Ritzville and Odessa. Connell has one in development, and all are a 30 minute drive away. - Both Recreational and State Parks offer hiking opportunities for those who like to stretch their legs. - Washtucna accommodates a relatively large volume of hunters when the season opens .

Bassett Park can and has easily accomodated large family reunions as well. - Between the wildlife and the landscape, a camera here never rests. - Pull up a picnic basket and dine on the grass, take advantage of our picnic benches, or utilize Bassett Park for a family reunion. - When summer heats up, residents cool down in the pool, run by Adams County Park & Rec. During the Fourth of July Celebrations, take advantage of our free swim day! - With no light pollution, the night sky really pops! The planets, the Northern Lights, the meteor showers, and the constellations all provide hours of fun. - While the lines running through town were removed, a 20 minute drive to Lyons Ferry awards train enthusiasts a great view of Joso Trestle. - Completed in 2005, the walking path is ideal for leisurely strolls. Many residents take advantage of this new feature. - During the summer months, residents can be found making waves at any one of the lakes and rivers located in the region. - With wildlife walking through town, one doesn't have to look very far to catch a glimpse of the region's inhabitants. Washtucna is equidistant to either of the two National Wildlife Refuges the region boasts. |
