Community Services
Washtucna is proud to have a variety of civic-oriented clubs and organizations to serve the town and the surrounding area alike.
Bringing people together is what small town life is all about. We accomplish that task in a variety of ways including through the scouts for both boys and girls, the Washtucna Community Church, and the Washtucna Lions Club — Washtucna’s prominent civic club. A Red Hatter’s Society as well as a Progressive Club round out the options community memeber’s have available to them to get involved.
If you would like further information regarding any of these clubs or organizations, please select one from the “Quicklinks” provided on this page.
Educational Services
Washtucna is home to the Washtucna School District, serving grades K through 12. With a low student to teacher ratio, kids here are afforded an attention that is oftentimes lacking in larger school districts.
The school district has both a daycare and preschool program; a special education program; and graduates 100% of its student body with 80% of graduates choosing to pursue higher education.

Emergency & Health Services
All emergencies should be directed to the 911 service that serves Adams County for emergency response needs.
For situations that require immediate response, local residents step up in times of need either as active members of the local EMS or through their positions in the volunteer Fire Fighters Association. These community members undergo intense training and are alerted to local emergencies through a pager system.
While we enjoy a minimal crime rate, Washtucna is served by the Adams County Sheriff and the Washington State Patrol offices — both located in Ritzville, Washington. Though there is seldom the need, we do have a police presence as both entities routinely patrol the area.
For routine check-ups, the Washtucna Medical Clinic serves as a satellite facility of the East Adams Rural Hospital, located in Ritzville, Washington. The family practice clinic is operated by the Adams County Public Hospital District #2 and has been serving the health care needs of the area residents since 1992.
