Fall 2008

Recycling

The Washtucna Music Department will be going door-to-door this fall to collect old cell phones, ink jet cartridges, laptops, iPods, digital cameras, and digital video cameras for recycling. A collection bin will also be available in the music room.

Wine Grapes

Exciting news for Washtucna! A trial plot of four acres has been examined by a vineyard siting consultant and been given the go ahead for use. This has the potential to lead to more vineyard sites and a possible winery here in town.

This fall, deer fences need to be built and other preliminary measures addressed for the site. Contact David Baumann or Lloyd Stoess if you are interested in contributing to this project either financially, with your time, or if you have materials you’d like to contribute.

Spring 2009

Once preliminary work is completed this fall, four varieties of wine grapes are scheduled to be planted March of 2009, within sight of town. Upwards of 4400 plants will need to be purchased and planted. You can contact David Baumann or Lloyd Stoess for further information, including how to help contribute to this project.
