In times of emergencies, Washtucna is served by the Adams County Sheriff; the Washington State Patrol; a volunteer fire department; and local EMS.

Local utilities include cable and high-speed internet access with electricity provided through Avista Utilities (solar is a viable option in this area). Water service is provided by the Town of Washtucna through wells and treated to meet health standards. Sanitation services include a sewage treatment plant operated by the town, and local transport of solid waste.
